How to Fest

For filmmakers who are able to attend HAAPIFEST, here is some information to help you enjoy your experience.

1. 📝  GENERAL FESTIVAL INFO

HAAPIFEST (Houston Asian American Pacific Islander Film Festival) is a program under OCA-Greater Houston. The festival is in its 21st year, and this year 100+ films will be screened in person with 30+ filmmakers attending.

The festival is hosted in Houston Asiatown:

2. 🎫  FILMMAKER PASS PICK-UP
Filmmaker and guest complimentary passes can be picked up throughout the festival at the attendee check-in and registration desk.

The festival area and screening rooms are in the front right wing of the DoubleTree by Hilton, Houston Westchase. The check-in desk will be located there.

3. 📅  FILMMAKER FOCUSED PROGRAMMING

We encourage filmmakers who are attending in person to join for these special events:

• During each day, we have a HAAPI Hour / Meet & Greet Reception. This is a great chance to mingle with festival attendees and meet other filmmakers.

• There will also be other social gatherings including late-night dinners with filmmakers!

• On Saturday June 7, we have a Lunch & Learn: Story Development Workshop led by Marcos James. This is free for filmmakers. Spots are limited, so please sign up in advance (code provided in email):
