HAAPIFEST 2026: A Celebration of Stories, Culture, and Community

May 29 – June 14, 2026
In Person in Houston + Online

HAAPIFEST 2026 returns as a powerful, multi-day celebration of film, music, and art — bringing together bold voices, diverse stories, and unforgettable experiences from across the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) diaspora.

Founded in 2004 by OCA-Greater Houston, HAAPIFEST continues its mission to uplift AAPI artists and filmmakers while sharing the richness of our cultures, histories, and identities with the Greater Houston community and beyond.

🎥 A Diverse and Powerful Film Lineup

This year’s festival features an expansive and dynamic lineup of films — from compelling documentaries to narrative features and thought-provoking shorts.

Audiences can expect stories that explore:

  • Identity and belonging across generations

  • The immigrant experience and cultural duality

  • Family, memory, and personal transformation

  • Social issues, resilience, and community advocacy

From intimate character-driven stories to visually striking and experimental works, HAAPIFEST 2026 showcases a wide spectrum of voices that reflect the depth and diversity of AAPI experiences.

🌏 Stories That Connect Across Cultures

The films in HAAPIFEST 2026 span languages, regions, and perspectives — highlighting storytellers from across the globe while centering narratives that resonate deeply within the AAPI community.

Whether it’s a story about rediscovering cultural roots, navigating identity in a new homeland, or preserving traditions across generations, each film offers a unique window into lives and experiences that are often underrepresented in mainstream media.

Through these stories, HAAPIFEST invites audiences to connect, reflect, and engage in meaningful dialogue.

🎭 More Than a Film Festival

HAAPIFEST is more than just a series of screenings — it’s an immersive cultural experience.

Throughout the festival, attendees will have opportunities to:

  • Engage with filmmakers and creatives

  • Participate in community-driven events

  • Celebrate art, music, and storytelling in a shared space

With both in-person and online programming, HAAPIFEST 2026 ensures that audiences everywhere can take part in this vibrant celebration.
